Blaine turned two on June 13th. Jenny had planned a monkey themed party. I found some cute monkey cup cakes on-line. Jenny liked them and decided to make those instead of a monkey cake. We had to look at lots of different blogs to figure out what the cupcakes where made of. I finally found a blog that told us all of the ingredients and steps to making the cupcakes.

So you just make chocolate or any flavor you want. Frost the top with milk chocolate store bought frosting.

To make the face you need regular Nilla waffers, and mini Nilla waffers-who knew that that they made mini Nilla waffers. But they do.

For each face you need one regular Nilla waffer and one mini Nilla waffer. Cut an 1/8 -1/4 off the top of the regular Nilla waffer and cut the mini Nilla waffer in half.

Place the regular Nilla waffer on the lower part of the cupcake with the straight edge near the middle of the cupcake. Place half of the mini Nilla waffer on one side and the other half on the opposite side for ears.

Jenny bought a couple of tubes of royal icing-black for the eyes and nose and red for the mouth.

Jenny had the cute idea to use a stuffed monkey as part of the decorations-I saved this monkey from the DI pile. Do you remember this monkey Danny?
The cupcakes were so cute! Jenny did a great job.

Blaine received lots of fun gifts. Jenny and Tyson got him a wading pool, swimming trunks, and a matching hat. Dad and I got him a bubble lawn mower, and Tyson's parent got him some pool toys and some nice shirts to wear to church.

Blaine didn't eat much of his cupcake, but he liked the ice cream.

Happy Birthday Blaine!
