Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath..........In The Pool

Our weather here in Utah has warmed up, and the rain has stopped at least for today-it's supposed to rain tomorrow. So Jenny thought that it would be a good day to try out Blaine's new pool.

So last night she blew it up and left it in the family room. When Blaine got up he got in it right away. Around 8:00am Jenny took the pool out onto the deck. She and Blaine filled it up with water so that the water could warm up.
At 3:00pm we decided that the water would be warm, and it was. So I got the table umbrella out and positioned it so that the pool was in the shade. Put two of the chair by the pool and put the cushions in the chairs. Jenny got Blaine dressed in his new swimming suit and matching hat.
We got the pool toys out. At first Blaine just ran around the pool. Then I helped him into the water. He said it was cold, but it wasn't it was nice and warm.

He played with the toys and splashed for about ten minutes and stood up and said that he wanted to go in. Your kidding! Ten minutes and your done.
We tried to talk him into staying in longer but he just got mad and started taking his suit and swimmer off.

He managed to get his trunks off and pull most of the swimmer off.

Jenny helped with the rest. Then he wanted to stay and play. Crazy boy! Maybe he thought the pool was the tub and you needed to be naked to enjoy it. Oh well, we will try again another day.

Happy Birthday Blaine

Blaine turned two on June 13th. Jenny had planned a monkey themed party. I found some cute monkey cup cakes on-line. Jenny liked them and decided to make those instead of a monkey cake. We had to look at lots of different blogs to figure out what the cupcakes where made of. I finally found a blog that told us all of the ingredients and steps to making the cupcakes.
So you just make chocolate or any flavor you want. Frost the top with milk chocolate store bought frosting.
To make the face you need regular Nilla waffers, and mini Nilla waffers-who knew that that they made mini Nilla waffers. But they do.
For each face you need one regular Nilla waffer and one mini Nilla waffer. Cut an 1/8 -1/4 off the top of the regular Nilla waffer and cut the mini Nilla waffer in half.
Place the regular Nilla waffer on the lower part of the cupcake with the straight edge near the middle of the cupcake. Place half of the mini Nilla waffer on one side and the other half on the opposite side for ears.

Jenny bought a couple of tubes of royal icing-black for the eyes and nose and red for the mouth.
Jenny had the cute idea to use a stuffed monkey as part of the decorations-I saved this monkey from the DI pile. Do you remember this monkey Danny?

The cupcakes were so cute! Jenny did a great job.

Blaine received lots of fun gifts. Jenny and Tyson got him a wading pool, swimming trunks, and a matching hat. Dad and I got him a bubble lawn mower, and Tyson's parent got him some pool toys and some nice shirts to wear to church.
Blaine didn't eat much of his cupcake, but he liked the ice cream.

Happy Birthday Blaine!

Danny told me how to change the date on Posts so that they are in order. So always look back through all of the blogs to see what is new, because I am so far behind. It is going to take me a long time to catch up.

Keep Blogging!
