Making Reindeer Food with Nana

Start with a few scoops of oatmeal...
...Add a few shakes of magic glitter...
...then place in baggies...
...and decorate. Nana included a cute poem too:

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.

Thank you, Nana and Papa!

This week, we got a great package in the mail from Nana and Papa - gifts from Alaska! Andrew and Logan got Alaska shirts and wooden train whistles (yeah, THANKS A LOT - they've been blowing them almost non-stop!), I got a pretty siver bracelet, Bryan got a funny Alaska shirt (sushi for Bryan - perfect!), and Hannah got a super soft Husky puppy.

Hannah loved petting his face and tail!

Mmmm! He's tasty too!

Thank you, Nana and Papa! We are anxiously awaiting your Alaska cruise pictures and report on the blog!

An Overheard Conversation...

...between Andrew and his friend, Lakely:

Lakely: "It's really cool that you like Star Wars and you have Star Wars shirts and a Star Wars lunch box."

Andrew: "Yeah, it's from my Nana. She loves me."

Do You See The Resemblance?

A couple of days after the 4th of July, I found these cute little Americana rag dolls at Marshall's on clearance for $5. I thought they'd look great in our Americana family room, so I snatched them up.

Logan really likes them and, for some reason, calls them "the girls." He is constantly taking them down and playing with them even though I tell him that they are just for decoration and not to play with.
A couple of days ago, I was putting the dolls back up on the mantel for the millionth time, when Andrew said, "Did you buy those dolls because they look like you and your Mommy?"
I was a little confused. "What?"
"Didn't you notice they look just like you and Nana?!"

HaHaHa! They really do! Do you see the resemblance?

Thanks, Mom!

Dear Mom,

How can we ever thank you for everything you did for us these past few weeks? That first week, when Hannah was in the hospital, was so difficult for us! It would have been unbearable if I was also worrying about who was caring for Andrew and Logan all day (and night!), or if Bryan had to stay home with them and leave me to face the hopital alone. I really needed him there with me, and you made that possible. I missed the boys and wished I could be home with them, but I always knew that were in good hands! THANK YOU!

Thanks for letting us sleep in when Hannah had been up during the night! Thanks for taking Andrew to school every morning and enduring Logan's diaper battles ("I NEED the motorcycle diaper!") The boys say, "Thanks for the chocolate milk, Nana!" Thanks for doing my cooking and cleaning and laundry for three weeks. Thanks for giving Bryan and me a much needed date night! Thanks for supporting me through all my breastfeeding issues and helping me to feel like a good Mom! My entire life, you have been the definition of selfless service to me! I just hope I can follow your example and be as great a Mom as you!

I miss you already!
Love, Summer
